Update on Winter Weather Advisory & New Snow Totals for Incoming Snow Chance

Winter Weather Advisory

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for a good portion of Southern Indiana. A bit of these advisories will expire tomorrow evening at 7pm EST. with the rest expiring Friday at 1am EST.

Impacts

The impacts on this system will not be as bad as the system we had earlier this week. At this point accumulation will be minor and this looks to be an all snow event. With what has already fallen from the previous event anything added to it will increase the probability of travel issues. Anything that falls will stick because temperatures are still very cold. So overall travel issues are likely.

How Much?

In terms of how much snow...around 1-2 inches for areas in shaded in the light blue with an isolated 3 inches possible. The dark shaded area does have the chance at getting 4 inches but this would likely be isolated.

Bottomline

If you must travel use caution and watch for slick spots especially on untreated roads, side roads, bridges and overpasses.

Stay Warm & Safe!
