Happy first day of Spring! Spring Equinox officially takes place today at 4:24pm CST./5:24pm EST. Certainly good news after a very chilly weekend! Temperatures are expected to climb this week.
Today will be Sunny and likely are only dry day until Saturday so soak in the dry weather while it lasts. On top of the dry weather a little warmer today with a high of 51 degrees. Clouds will be on the increase heading into tonight but dry with temperatures falling into the low 30s.
Tuesday will start out dry but be cloudy with rain chances on the increase by dinner time. Daytime highs will be again in the low 50s. By Tuesday evening showers are expected to become more widespread across Southern Indiana. Rain is likely to continue overnight Tuesday into Wednesday. Temperatures will be around a low of 43 degrees Tuesday Night.
After sunrise Wednesday showers will become mostly scattered, so peaks of dry time are certainly possible and highs back in the lower 60s. Another round of widespread rain looks to form late Wednesday evening into the overnight before again breaking apart on Thursday morning. Wednesdays overnight low will be in the upper 50s.
The scattered showers will continue again for Thursday but the chance looks lighter compared to Tuesday and Wednesday. It will also be even warmer with highs around 71 degrees. By the predawn hours of Friday a line of showers and thunderstorms will move in and make it’s way through going throughout the start of Friday. A few additional thunderstorms may be possible later in the day but likely scattered in nature. Friday’s daytime high will be slightly cooler back down to around 63 degrees. The rain looks to wrap up by Friday night making way for a dry start to the weekend.
The Weekend…Saturday will be dry with mostly sunny skies with highs in the upper 50s. Sunday will also be mainly dry before showers move in late Sunday night into Monday. Sundays high will be back to around 66 degrees.
Next Week…Starts out wet with rain likely in the early morning hours of Monday before drying out after Sunrise and likely dry the rest of the day. Highs will be in the lower 60s.
