After soggy end to 2019 the sunshine came just in time to welcome the New Year. Unfortunately the sunshine won't last long as an area of low pressure will bring rain into the area for tomorrow with the potential of an inch and a half of rain possible with locally higher totals possible where heavier rain is present. If you happen to encounter any flooded roadways do NOT drive through it! (Turn around, Don't drown). Timing for this system will be rain through Saturday ending with a few snowflakes. In the midst of snow flurries on Saturday, temperatures will drop from the 50s to mid to upper 30s. Although that temperature drop will take place there will be no significant impact from any snow that does fall as pavement temperatures will be too warm.
Looking ahead into Sunday it will be dry but the clouds will still be around and temperatures will increase back into the 50s. Monday will be cloudy again but slightly cooler with highs in the upper 40s ahead of our next system that will bring another chance of a rain to snow mix at this time it is to early to determine accumulation potential and as of now no significant impacts are expected but check back here for updates in the coming days as models fine tune next Tuesday's forecast.
