Beautiful weather expected for Independence Day Weekend

After getting some much needed rain the weather is shaping up to be outstanding for Independence Day weekend!

The rest of today will be mostly sunny but notably cooler thanks to winds from the North that will keep temperatures in the low 80s. By tonight temperatures will fall back to the mid to upper 50s with clear skies.

Tomorrow will be much like today with mostly sunny skies and a high of about 82 degrees. By Saturday night skies will be partly cloudy with temps falling back only to the low 60s. While Sunday will be dry and mostly sunny it will be slightly warmer as temperatures climb to the upper 80s. With clear skies expected by Sunday night and lows in the upper 60s.

Monday will mostly sunny but I can't completely rule out a spotty shower in the afternoon. Overall it's a small chance - 10%. Daytime high will be 93º. Overnight Monday looks dry with partly cloudy skies and a nighttime low of 70 degrees.

Mostly sunny skies will continue on Tuesday and a few degrees warmer with a high of 93º. Skies will then become partly cloudy overnight Tuesday into Wednesday with a low of 71º.

Wednesday will mark our next decent chance for rain. This will be stemming off of what is currently Hurricane Elsa that is down South in the Atlantic and is expected to make landfall in Florida as a Tropical Storm early Tuesday morning. This system will then work its way inland tracking Northeast likely staying South of Southern Indiana. At that stage it will be a Tropical Depression.

What does that mean for us? With this type of system it will likely produce moisture content that will generate rain and even thunderstorm activity. That said we could see the chance for showers and thunderstorms Wednesday into Thursday.

By Thursday afternoon the rain looks to come to an end. Leaving behind mostly cloudy skies. Aside from the chance for rain temperatures will continue to stay in the low 90s through at least Wednesday. It's looking like the rain may try to cool things down by only a few degrees by Thursday with highs in the upper 80s.

Have a great Independence Day Weekend!!
